This is one of the suppossed Madonna collaborations. This song is from 1989 and is from a rock group called Race. Madonna collaborated in this song singing a couple of sentences in the lyrics. But many fans, along with some expert collectors, say that the girl singing in that song 'Fantasy' is not Madonna. In 1998 a cd-maxi was released, with some remixes of the song. The release was named "Race feat. Who's Dat Girl - Fantasy", with the participation of Junior Vasquez (but still there are doubts about who really remixed the versions, and if it is really Madonna singing on it). Maybe the rumour that Fantasy was a Madonna collaboration with William Orbit was the reason for many people to afirm that the 1989 version is not by Madonna.In this moment we only can enjoy an edited version of Fantasy, in which the parts with the singer of Race have been deleted, so we can only hear Madonna singing. This song is also said to be one of the inspirations for writing Erotica. |
