Promises Promises is a hit of a group called Naked Eyes, in the early 80's. This song would have been completely forgotten of it wasn't Madonna singing part of the lyrics. This is the reasong for releasing a gratests hits album in 2002, from a duo that dissapeared almost 20 years ago. Of course, the announce that one of the song is sung by Madonna. So, in October 2002, Everything And More was released: a collection of hits, B-sides, remixes and a couple of unreleased songs. In this cd we can find two versions of Promises Promises, the song that has some lines sung by Madonna.
The history of the song begins in 1983. Both members of Naked Eyes where in New York recording a remix with Jellybean Benitez. Madonna was starting her music career, and was Jellybean's girlfriend, so she accepted to sing a couple of lines when Jellybean asked her to do it. This lines would only appear in the remixes, and have finally been released in 2002. It was known that Madonna had recorded some material for this group, but some said it was just a promotional message to be aired in the radio stations.
With the sentence 'I would like to thank...M (for the promises)...', the thank Madonna for her collaboration in this compilation. We don't care if they have make it to get money or not, it's just another item for those who want to get a complete Madonna music collection.

Naked Eyes British duo composed by Peter Byrne (vocals) and Rob Fisher (keyboard), who died on August 19th, 1999. Both decided to make a group in 1983 in the british city of Bath. Their musical life was really short, with just two albums and four hits in the US (some of them were top 10). In 1984 the disolved the group. After that, they have released three compilation of hits, remixes, B-sides and unreleased material. Never so little led to so many compilations.
