She has recorded seven songs, and people at Sire wanted Ain't No Big Deal to be the 8th track to complete the record. But that song didn't fit quite well, and was finally the B-side of Papa Don't Preach. So they needed an 8th song, and the time and money were running out. The new song came from Jellybean Benitez, a famous Dj who has a large collection of demos for new artist asking him popularity. Madonna liked a song called Holiday, and persuaded Sire bosses to include it in the album, under Jellybean's production. That's the way Madonna got three producers in her first album, quite a goal for a new artist in the early 80's. Holiday is a simple song, optimistic, and although Jellybean had never produced any song before that, it doesn't have any inexperienced sings. What is more, it is a hard-to-forget tune with a fantastic catchy opening, and playing with the words 'holiday' and 'celebrate'. Holiday has been the most protected song by Madonna: she has sung it in every tour, and has been released as a single three times (1983, 1985 and 1991). | | videoclip |

| A music video has been recorded to promote the single Holiday, but it has never seen the light. It seems it was so bad, that Sire decided to use different live permormances of the song instead of the horrible video. The little information it is known about this song is that it was partly filmed in a disco with a pink background, although this is not official info. The performances used for the alternate video were the ones for the TV programmes American Bandstand in USA and Top Of The Pops in UK, with her brother Christopher as one of the dancers. In 1991 it was released again as a promotional single for the album The Immaculate Collection, and the video used this time was the live version performed for the Blond Ambition Tour that Alex Keshishian had wonderfuly recorded. | | | live | | As this is one of Madonna's first songs, and one of the most popular, Madonna has performed Holiday live many different times.
